SHOE FACTORY OPENS IN ABA, TO BEGIN OPERATION IN SEPTEMBER
The Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu recently inaugurated a seven-man management board for the newly-launched Enyimba Automated Shoe Factory in the state. The Governor during the inauguration stated that the factory was launched in order to solidify the position of Aba as a global hub for manufacturing of shoes and other leather products. He further said that the objective was to bring a change in shoe manufacturing processes in the place with compliance in international standards.
According to him, all equipment in the factory are some of best in the world and the factory has the capacity of producing 2 million pairs of shoes annually.
One of the board members, Osaro Ekonweren mentioned that the factory presently has an installed capacity for the production of 5,000 pairs of shoes daily which translates to about 2 million shoes annually.
The factory will begin operation in September. Watch out world!
