A lot of people do not know how important carrots are. Carrots have a lot of health benefits, some of which are:

They cleanse the body.

The Vitamin A present in carrots assists the liver in flushing out toxins from the body while the fibres help clean out the colon and enhance bowel movement.

Prevent heart diseases.

Consuming carrots regularly can reduce cholesterol level as the soluble fibre in carrots bind with the bile acids. Carrots also contain beta-caroten, alpha caroten and lutein which are beneficial to not only the heart but other parts/organs of the body.

Carrots improve vision.

Carrots are rich in beta-caroten and these are converted to Vitamin A in the liver. The Vitamin A is then converted to rhodopsin (which is a purple pigment necessary for night vision) in the retina. Beta-caroten also protects the eye from macular degeneration and senile cataracts.

Give a healthy, glowing skin.

The Vitamin A and antioxidants present in carrots protect the skin from sun damage, premature wrinkles, acne and other skin blemishes.

They help prevent aging.

The beta-caroten present in carrots is not only good for the heart and eyes. It also helps to slow down aging by acting as an antioxidant to damaged cells in the body.

Still think carrots are not important? Include carrot in your diet as often as possible. How often do you eat carrot?
